JOB TITLE: Storeman

OCC. LEVEL/ GRADE:Semi-Skilled

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent

BRANCH: Cape Town

Purpose:

The Storeman is responsible for the daily management and control of the stores area and stock. The duties will include receiving and checking incoming materials and issuing stock to employees. Maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring the store area remains organized.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and inspecting incoming stock and materials.
  • Recording and updating stock movements.
  • Issuing tools, materials and equipment to employees as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and assist with stock audits.
  • Assist with invoicing and GRV’s.
  • Ensuring proper storage and housekeeping of the stores area.
  • Report stock shortages, damages and discrepancies.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries where necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Forklift license will be advantageous
  • Matric (Grade 12)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years relevant work experience

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
