Purpose:

Assemble and maintain mobile units according to technical drawings and specifications while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install components on mobile units according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out modifications, repairs, and adjustments where required.
  • Perform quality inspections during and after assembly.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and correctly.
  • Ensure all work complies with company quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Report defects, shortages, or technical issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist with testing and commissioning of completed mobile units

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Matric
  • Trade certificate
  • Valid driver’s license (Advantageous)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in assembly, fabrication or related technical work
  • Experience using workshop tools and equipment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Basic knowledge of assembly, fabrication, or manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of technical drawings, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of workshop tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of workplace health and safety (OHS) practices.

    SKILLS:

  • Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings and specifications.
  • Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
  • Good assembly and fabrication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
