Kwikspace, Africa’s premier supplier of prefabricated buildings, is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Home of Hope in Morning Star, Western Cape. Kwikspace has successfully delivered and installed a standard 7 x 7 m unit, which will be utilised as a vital classroom for the children and young adults of the Non-Profit Organisation.
A Space to Learn in a ‘Place of Safety’
Founded in 2005, Home of Hope is a multi-project organisation that renders holistic services to children and young adults impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and similar disabilities.
It is reported that South Africa has the highest prevalence rate of FASD in the world, which ranges from “29 to 290 per 1,000 live births”. Having a place of sanctuary and safety to focus on growing skills and establishing a new chapter is of the utmost importance for these young people.
Home of Hope provides “a brighter future for every child” by:
● Care through residential programmes
● Education through a special needs school
● Mentorship and growth towards independence for young adults
They do this because they believe that each child can become a productive and responsible member of society.
Building a Foundation for Generations to Come
Recognising the need for a dedicated classroom, Home of Hope approached Kwikspace. Kwikspace then provided the expertise required to bring this classroom project to fruition.
The Kwikspace team constructed and installed the 7 x 7 m unit within a timeframe of 4 weeks in order to create the classroom.
