In early July 2020, Kwikspace was contracted by the Aurum Institute’s Tembisa branch requesting the urgent delivery of four modular buildings for use as COVID-19 testing stations at Tembisa Hospital. Due to the urgency of the request and the importance of protecting medical personnel from contracting the virus, Kwikspace instituted a contingency plan and delivered the required number of units the same day.
Four Kwikspace 6 m x 3 m prefabricated modular buildings were delivered to the hospital after an emergency site visit by Kwikspace personnel. Levelling of the structures began immediately post-delivery, after which Aurum Institute and Tembisa Hospital personnel fitted the interior to accommodate COVID-19 testing protocols. They also undertook responsibility for installing the required electrical connections.
“The standard turnaround times for our purchase units is four weeks,” points out Kwikspace Senior Accounts Manager Gerry de Beer. “However, given the urgency and the medical necessity of the request our departments worked together and pulled out all stops to ensure the fastest response time possible.”
“The same day turnaround is a remarkable achievement,” De Beer concludes.
Thanks is due to various Kwikspace departments for securing this fast product turnaround, and to our dedicated transport company, who provides great service on demand.”
